March 2010

6th & 7th 13th & 14th - Plas Newydd, Anglesey - Open Garden Weekends. Enjoy the beautiful gardens of Plas Newydd, as well as fantastic views over the Menai Straits on these open weekends before the house and grounds open fully for visitors. 11am - 5.30pm Adult £6.25 Child £3.25 Prior Booking Essential - please contact Julia Mccormack on 01248 714 795 or e-mail julia.mccormack@nationaltrust.org.uk. 13th - Archaeology Day - Holyhead Breakwater Country Park. The event will run from 11am to 4pm with displays of artefacts and various demonstrations including ancient cooking and flint knapping.  This is a free event, and visitors are welcome to drop in at anytime throughout the day. 13th - Mother's Day Craft Workshop - Plas Newydd, Anglesey. A day of crafts for children at this National Trust Property. Contact Plas Newydd, Tel: 01248 714 795 or email: plasnewydd@nationaltrust.org.uk

14th - Guided Walk (8 miles). Meet at Cable Bay car park at 9.50am to catch 10am bus to Four Mile Bridge. The walk goes back along the coast, by sandy beaches, easy cliff tops and through fields. Dogs welcome.

14th - Ensemble Cymru - The Ucheldre Centre, Holyhead - A pre-concert talk by Artistic Director, Peryn Clement-Evans followed by Ensemble Cymru's performance which will include Schubert's 'Trout' Quintet. 2.00 - 3.30pm Tickets:  £7.50 (Concessions £7.00) Tel: 01407 763361 http://www.ensemblecymru.co.uk/

2nd & 3rd -  Country Music Festival at the New Pavillion (Fri & Sat). Night Ticket £15 Weekend Ticket £25 per person including free camping. Evening entertainment on both nights starts at approx 7pm-3am. Artists include Wil Tan, Hard Cash, Shania Twain tribute Act and Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers Tribute Act. On Saturday during the day 1pm-5pm there will also be line dancing so get on your dancing ‘country & western’ shoes. 4th & 5th - Cadburys Easter Extravaganza (4th) and Easter Family Fun Day (5th) 11am-4pm at Plas Newydd.

5th & 6th - The Great North Wales Antiques & Collectors Fair at Hen Pavillion, Mona, Gwalchmai

6th - The Great Strait Raft Run from Felinheli across to Menai Bridge (approx 1pm-to be confirmed).Sponsored in aid of very worthwhile charities. Bring your camera as most of the participants on the rafts will be in hilarious fancy-dress costumes. A fun day for all!

19th - Big 70’s Night Event at the New Pavillion, Mona Showground - 70’s dress welcomed and prizes for best dressed so dance on down for the best night or the crown!

25th July to 6th August - Menai Strait Regatta Sailing Races. A wonderful stream of yachts sailing on the straits over a fortnight period.

1st - Rotary Club Bangor 24th Annual Country Fair at Rhos Farm, Pentraeth

7th & 8th - A Medieval Fantasy at Beaumaris Castle with knight jousting, jesters and jugglers

10th & 11th - Anglesey Agricultural Show at the Showground in Mona. Very well attended every year

15th - Beaumaris Lifeboat Day. All day event at the Lifeboat Station beside Beaumaris Green

22nd to 26th - Anglesey Motorcycle Show at the Hen/old Pavillion
