Ynys Castell - Castle Island
“The most unique and exciting holiday location on Anglesey”
Rent your own island holiday home on the Menai Straits on the outskirts of the town of Menai Bridge. Ynys Castell has magnificent panoramic views of the Menai Straits and the Snowdonia Mountain range. The house is set in mature gardens with three separate lawned areas and access to the sea down steps/paths and a slipway.
Ynys Castell is special, full of character, memories and secrets. The moment you drive onto the causeway you will feel a sudden return to childhood, a sense of adventure and an overwhelming desire to explore. Ynys Castell is a place you will always want to return to!
The house is ideal for families or larger groups of people, and space is generously provided so that everyone can be together or find a quiet space to be alone. It sleeps 13/14 in 3 double bedded rooms ( one has a balcony and one has a single bed that converts to a double) 2 sets of adult sized bunk bedded rooms, 1 twin bedded room, and 1 single room (there is also an additional bed in the upstairs sitting room). There are 3 bathrooms, 2 with showers. Three of the bedrooms are downstairs and four are upstairs.
The recently updated kitchen is fully equipped with electric cooker, microwave, large fridge, freezer (in the corridor outside the back door) and a washing machine is in the laundry room in the same corridor. The dining room, which has a large bay window, which provides wonderful views up and down the Straits has ample dining space for 14 people. Upstairs there is a library alcove and a large sitting room with 3 picture windows (one with a balcony) giving the same spectacular views.
Nearby the towns of Menai Bridge and Beaumaris offer a great choice of pubs, cafes and restaurants as well as excellent individual shops for the more discerning shopper.
One dog per family may be brought onto the island, but must sleep in the kitchen and owners are responsible for their pets during their stay and the garden should kept free from dog mess.
Bed linen, duvets and towels are supplied and there are televisions upstairs and downstairs. Logs are generally not provided for the upstairs open fire.
There is parking for two cars close to the house and another two at the bottom of the drive. (Care should be taken to park above the high water level)
Important Information
The owners accept NO responsibility for anyone using boats (they are used at your own risk) and also, that children are supervised at all times.
